Saturday, July 4

On Saturday, July 4, the Red Dirt Pedalers’ 21st annual Tour of Payne will kick off Independence Day with 16-, 38-, 62- and 100-mile routes, all paved roads with rolling hills. Participants can enjoy a free pasta dinner on Friday, July 3, at the Payne County Expo Center from 5-7 p.m., with live music by Terry Raymond. Camping is available at the expo center for those who want to wake up and ride. If Saturday rolls around and you still haven’t registered, don’t fret; day-of registration will be open from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., at which time the mass start will send bikers on their way. A free lunch will be served at the expo center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with live music to follow. For more information, visit www.reddirtpedalers.org.
