For the first time in Oklahoma, the inspirational story Billy Elliot will unravel onstage, at the Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall. “This musical is one of the most inspiring evenings of theatre that I’ve seen,” producing artistic director Michael Baron says. “It celebrates what is unique in each one of us, while teaching us the power of the human spirit. I’m delighted to present this 10 time Tony Award-winning musical for the first time in Oklahoma.” Based on the 2000 movie Billy Elliot, the on-stage musical introduces the audience to Billy, a 12-year-old boy who discovers his passion and talent for dance and inspires family and friends along the pursuit to accomplish his goals and dreams. Presented by Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, the production’s wonderful cast includes Brooks Landegger as Billy, Christopher Bloch as Billy’s dad, Lyn Cramer as Mrs. Wilkinson and many others. Performances will be held Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; and Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets start at $25. For more information, visit www.okcciviccenter.com.
