Keith Urban arrived on country music’s radar in 1991 with his debut, self-titled album. Growing up in Australia, he went on to gain fans from all corners of the world, especially the United States, where he eventually moved, working his way up the charts and the ranks of best country musicians. In his career, Urban has won four Grammy Awards, CMA’s Male Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, a People’s Choice, an American Music Award and eight Academy of Country Music Awards. This June marked the release of his single John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16, which will be featured on his upcoming album. Now, Oklahoma fans get the change to see the country star at WinStar World Casino, Friday, Aug. 21, and the crowd can expect a great show, with Urban playing some of his best. Greeting the crowd a few songs into his set, “he didn’t stop interacting with the audience for the rest of the evening,” says Danielle Ames in The Tribune after his July 31 show at California Mid-State Fair. “Urban sang everything you’d expect to hear at one of his concerts, including his hits ‘John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,’ ‘Cop Car,’ ‘Long Hot Summer,’ ‘Days Go By’ and ‘Somebody Like You.’” Urban’s outdoor show at The Colosseum at WinStar will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $40.
