The Firehouse Art Center’s 38th Midsummer Nights arts festival in Norman returns to Lions Park with fun, free interactive art activities and live music. Enjoy foil sculpting, portrait drawing from a live model and creating thumbprint drawing. There will also be demonstrations in wheel-thrown pottery, painting, jewelry, sculpting, printmaking and drawing. Every year, the Norman Firehouse Art Center celebrates regional artists, and this year, 27 artists’ works will be on display and available for purchase. This year’s artists include Mark Andrews, Frances Barton, Clifton Brown, Chris and Dion Burnett, Susan Chambers, Monica Fallini, Amy Foster, Shane Glover, Vernon Hatley, Beverly Herndon, Lara Holland, Randy Jones, Gloria Lamar, Darci Lenker, Stasia Long, Becky Portera, Dana Reed, Jim Shelley, Kent Sowers, Thomas Stotts, Tara Tipton, Jim Watkins, Bud and Beverly Webster and Cecilia Yoder. While exploring all the festival has to offer, enjoy musical performances by Bungalouski, Kierston White and the Dirty Dishes, Mike Hosty and many others.
