Saturday, Oct. 8 at Guthrie Green in Tulsa

Tulsa is more than 1,000 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, but we manage to become connoisseurs of those bivalve mollusks on the half-shell nonetheless. Area restaurants lend their expertise with all sorts of dishes, including oyster po’ boys, but you can bet there will be plenty in the raw to go around. Oysterfest happens at the Guthrie Green, 111 E. Brady St., Tulsa, beginning at noon Saturday, October 8. Event will last until food runs out. Proceeds from the event go to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. For more, visit www.guthriegreen.com.
