F. Scott Fitzgerald’s tale of love, elegance and tragedy comes to life in Simon Levy’s stage adaptation of the classic novel The Great Gatsby. The story follows a young writer named Nick Carraway, who befriends his wealthy next-door neighbor, Jay Gatsby, and is drawn into Gatsby’s lavish lifestyle of extravagant parties, beautiful women and fancy cars, while Gatsby uses Nick’s friendship to rekindle his romance with Nick’s cousin Daisy, who is married to Tom Buchanan. In 2013, The Great Gatsby came to life on the big-screen. The film was a big hit, making $351 million worldwide, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Levy adaptation has experienced equal success, with its colorful, elaborate set, and the use of the original dialogue used by Fitzgerald. Presented by Theatre Tulsa, the show begins its run at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.tulsapac.com
