Friday, Feb. 20 – Saturday, Feb. 21

Experience this classic tale of love and triumph with the Tulsa Ballet. These strong, graceful dancers will be on pointe, Feb. 20-22, to tell the story of The Sleeping Beauty. As the prologue opens, audiences will witness the spell the vengeful Carabosse casts on the King and Queen’s newborn, Princess Aurora; on her sixteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger and die. Good thing The Lilac Fairy intervened and substituted death with a deep sleep that can only be cured by the kiss of a handsome prince who has truly fallen in love. During the next three acts, even after needles have been banished from the court, a bouquet of flowers from a mysterious woman will set the spell in motion, 100 years will pass over the sleeping beauty and finally, with the help of The Lilac Fairy, Aurora’s guardian angel it seems, Prince Florimund will place a kiss on Aurora’s lips with a honest heart. Don’t miss a beautiful performance set to the score of Tchaikovsky on Friday, Feb. 20 and Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m., at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
