For the Turnpike Troubadours, the Sooner State will always be home. The band’s new, self-titled LP peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart, thanks to first week sales of 19,400 copies. For a decade, the band has been one of the premier groups in the Red Dirt circuit. In more recent years, the band has expanded its musical talents to the rest of the country, selling out clubs in bigger markets, including a gig in Los Angeles – a place where country music isn’t as popular. To celebrate, their recent success, the Turnpike Troubadors continue to hit the highway, playing more shows. The group takes over the Cain’s Ballroom after Christmas.
