Oklahomans for Equality’s First Thursday art opening and exhibit, showcasing the works of local artists, continues this month. On display at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center Thursday, July 2 through Friday, July 31, Kevin Thompson’s latest work will be exhibited in a show titled Ankle Deep…an Experience in Acrylics. With 25 years in the salon business, Thompson entertains his artistic talent with a paintbrush only when he has the time, and once he finished restoring and sold his and his partner’s home in the Brady Arts District, he found that time to focus on his artwork. His first show, Inception, debuted during one of Tulsa’s First Friday Art Crawls, and his work was positively received among onlookers and other artists. Now, with his latest exhibit, people can see his favorite medium to work with: acrylics. Ankle Deep…an Experience in Acrylics opens with a reception on Thursday, July 2 from 6-9 p.m. For more information, visit www.okeq.org.
