Friday, Sept. 25

Out on a Limb, the name of the first ever TEDxUCO event, which offers a TED-like experience on a local level, arrives at the Nigh University Center’s Constitution Hall on UCO’s campus on Friday, Sept. 25. From 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., UCO’s students, faculty and staff, along with members of the community, will come together to further “ideas worth spreading,” the purpose that started the nonprofit TED in 1984. The event will include 12 talks and seven performances that touch on education, science, social change and community action. “Within the UCO community, from students to alumni and from faulty and staff to community partners, there are many untold stories and ideas that need to be heard,” says Robert Epstein, Ph.D., UCO professor of management and one of the organizers of the event. “Audience members become participants in the conversation and leave with new insights to use themselves or share with others. Tickets are $10 for students, $20 for faculty and staff, and $40 for all other attendees. For more information, visit www.uco.edu.
