With the New Year amongst us, there are a plethora of activities to indulge in around the state of Oklahoma. There’s the Crystal Ball, Hangover Ball and you can even watch an Olive drop in Bartlesville. But for some, New Year’s festivities can slightly be overwhelming. Staying in can be an alternative to the crazy and often unpredictable New Year’s night out on the town. For those who prefer things a little quieter, Oklahoma Magazine has compiled a list of Sooner-based movies to stream on Netflix while counting down to 2016.

A heartwarming and adventurous tale for all ages about a young boy and his quest for his own red-bone hound hunting dogs. With the heavy rainfalls in Oklahoma, the original barn and cabin used in the film was washed away. After the production wrapped up filming in 1974, the owners convinced the production crew to leave the buildings behind for historical purposes.
