Concert pianists have a wonderful, wandering sort of life. For instance, German star Alexander Schimpf has traveled to Austria (where he won the International Beethoven Competition in 2009), to New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Ohio, where he happened to pick up the prestigious Cleveland International Piano Competition in 2011. The virtuosic Schimpf is certain to win some admiration, too, when he makes his debut at Edmond’s Armstrong Auditorium, 14400-B S. Bryant Road, performing pieces from Debussy, Ravel and Mozart. Tickets are $20-$45, available at www.armstrongauditorium.org.
