The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame is used to opening its doors to musical genres outside of its specialty, but it’s never heard anything like the sound of Diffident Rebel. The Oklahoma band – featuring such musicians as Mike Bennett, Steve Ham, Gary Linde, Jared Johnson, Heath Ham, Paul Rossler and vocalists Antjuan Robinson and Teddy Soliday – will play music from its new album, Red Dirt Reggae. Look for the band at 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, at 111 E. First St., in downtown Tulsa, and read more about Diffident Rebel in Oklahoma Magazine and OM Contributing Editor John Wooley’s latest column here. Tickets are $10 at www.okjazz.org.
