Tulsa CARES was founded in 1991, in direct response to the growing need for compassionate care for those affected by HIV/AIDS. Community leaders came together and developed a one-stop-source plan to respond to the AIDS epidemic.
This model brought all of the social services together under one roof which helped to reduce fragmentation, encouraged collaboration and co-operation among providers and eased the burden on clients and family members.
