Tuesday, July 23, 6:30 p.m.
The Grammy-winning band of brothers (and one cousin) Kings of Leon returns to its Oklahoma roots to raise money for tornado relief alongside the always stellar Flaming Lips at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Only a few months after storms ravaged the Oklahoma City area, the need for aid is still great. Rock for Oklahoma focuses on rebuilding and repairing the estimated $2 billion in damage left behind as well as the long-term problems tornado victims will face. Singer-songwriter and activist Jackson Browne and Idaho rockers Built to Spill are scheduled to make appearances at the concert, too. Special guests include Grace Potter, Ben Kweller, and Victoria’s Secret Angels Lily Aldridge and Erin Heatherton. During the night, there will be a silent auction for a meet-and-greet with the VS Angels. Show will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the arena, 100 Reno Ave, Oklahoma City. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $35-$50 and available at www.chesapeakearena.com.
