Tire Axle

Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum
Oklahoma City

The Tire axle from the truck used to transport the 4,000 pounds of explosives used in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building on April 19, 1995, contained a confidential vehicle identification number that connected the truck to a rental agency in Junction City, Kan. Evidence tags from the court case leading to the conviction and a death sentence for Timothy McVeigh are still attached.
