On The Chisholm Trail sits on the lawn at the south entrance of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. The sculpture was dedicated in 1998. Once the greatest cattle trail in the world, the Chisholm Trail served to get Texas cattle north to the Kansas railheads. In the 10 years of the Trail’s existence – from 1867 to 1877 – more than three million head of cattle passed through Oklahoma to Kansas.
