Sherrill is a hometown boy who has done great things for his community; so it was no surprise that a large portion of Atoka signed a letter of recommendation for Sherrill to be included in this year’s 40 Under 40. He currently serves as vice president and loan officer of FirstBank in Atoka – he’s come quite a long way since his first job of bagging groceries at Sonny’s Market in his hometown. For a few years, Sherrill held the claim to fame as the youngest mayor in the state (he was elected in 2003 at the age of 29). “I have been successful at a few things because they are things that I believe in and am passionate about,” Sherrill says. “It is easy to be successful at things that are important to you.”
