Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Join us for a weekend of celebration in Downtown Tulsa on June 16-19, 2016! Juneteenth rememberences in Tulsa have always included heritage through music & art, and the 2016 celebrations will be no different.
