From travelok.com: An annual holiday tradition in Tulsa, the Philbrook Festival of Trees is three weeks of celebration of the season at the Philbrook Museum of Art. During this time, you’ll see the museum decked out in festive Christmas decorations and find beautiful pieces of artwork for sale that have been inspired by the charm of the winter season.
The Saturday before Thanksgiving the Philbrook throws a holiday party that everyone is welcome to called Garden Glow. It is the kick off event for the Festival of Trees and is free to the public. See thousands of twinkling bulbs turn on for the first time and light up the museum’s beautiful gardens. There will also be hot cocoa and holiday art-making activities for the children.
Each Thursday night through December, the museum stays open late for Thursday Night Lights. During Festival of the Trees, gorgeous gingerbread houses made by schools, non profits and churches are on display showing the personality behind each organization. Special Festival of Tree events include the Children’s pARTy where kids can make art projects and enjoy a photo op with Santa complete with milk and cookies.
