November films are here!
Kicking things off is Godzilla Minus Zero. Following the massive success of Godzilla Minus One in 2023, this sequel takes place two years later – in 1949 – as our main characters face a new catastrophe. The first film was lauded for its unique premise and setting, as well as a sharp focus on its human characters. The spectacle of Godzilla is likely to be just as strong as its previous entry when this lands in theaters on Nov. 6.
For a black comedy from one of the best creative forces currently working, check out Wild Horse Nine. Written and directed by Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin), the plot involves two CIA agents, played by John Malkovich (Rounders) and Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), who get entangled in mishaps right before the Chilean coup in 1973. Full of McDonagh’s signature witty dialog and complicatedly dark and funny characters, the film looks to be another excellent addition to his body of work. It releases on Nov. 6.
To get your horror fix for the month, don’t miss Victorian Psycho. Based on the 2025 book of the same name (what a fast turnaround!), the story follows Winifred Notty, an eccentric young governess who arrives at a manor and begins to exhibit some strange behavior. The film stars Maika Monroe (Longlegs) and the trailer shows off bizarre camera angles, a fully committed performance from Monroe and some realistic looking gritty violence. Early reviews are mostly positive, so it should be a spooky time when it releases on Nov. 13.
For a sports film about a legend, look no further than Madden. Starring Nicholas Cage (Dream Scenario) as John Madden, the film covers a wide range of the former coach’s life, from winning championships to the creation of the Madden NFL video game series. Cage has characteristically gone all out for the look of his characters and bears a striking resemblance to Madden. Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari) also stars as Al Davis, alongside Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision) and Sienna Miller (Layer Cake). It releases to Amazon Prime on Nov. 8.
Finally, a comedy-drama I didn’t think would happen: The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. A standalone sequel and spinoff to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Brad Pitt reprises his role as the titular Cliff Booth, a stunt double in 1970s Los Angeles. This story takes place eight years after the events of the first film, in which Booth finds himself as a studio fixer with plenty of new shenanigans afoot. The film was written by Quentin Tarantino, who penned Once Upon a Time, but directed this time by David Fincher (Fight Club). Other cast members include Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown), Scott Cann (Ocean’s 11), Carla Gugino (Sin City) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified). It looks to be a fun and unexpected follow-up and drops exclusively in IMAX theaters on Nov. 25th before coming to Netflix on Dec. 23.
