Great contemporary native art is just the beginning of the annual Greater Tulsa Indian Art Festival, opening this weekend in Glenpool. Presented by the National Indian Monument & Institute, the festival will include works from such celebrated artists as Brent Learned, Jeri Redcorn, Dylan Cavin, Ruthe Blalock Jones and Randy Brokeshoulder. It doesn’t stop there. Look for Cherokee storytelling with Robert Lewis, dance exhibitions, music from the EricaJames Band, Native American foods, student art exhibits and work by poet Suzan Shown Harjo. The festival – Friday, Jan. 31-Sunday, Feb. 2 – takes place at the Glenpool Conference Center, 12205 S. Yukon Ave. Tickets are $8 each or $10 for a three-day pass.
