Preforming some of the most loved classical pieces ever written, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields is dedicated to sharing its music with the world. “Whilst our heritage and roots are in the church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, our mission is to bring our unique interpretation of classical music to all parts of London, all parts of Britain, indeed all parts of the world,” says the academy’s website. The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields has tuned its musicians and instruments just right, and the orchestra, one of the top in the world, prides itself on working with extremely talented soloists and directors, hoping to bring fresh perspectives, sounds and talents to its shows. Having played in some of the most incredible concert halls in Europe and around the world, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields bring its talents to Edmond’s Armstrong Auditorium for a night of intimate sound. With them, Jeremy Denk, a talented pianist –the recipient of the 2013 MacArthur Fellowship and named Musical America’s 2014 Instrumental of the Year – will play the keys in a program of Bach and Stravinsky concerti. Talents that have been heard worldwide will be shared with an Edmond audience on Wednesday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $45. For more information, visit www.armstrongauditorium.org.
