Some DJs attain the status previously reserved only for bands and vocalists. If a spinner is really good, he even gets to be a producer. Such is the case with Paper Diamond, better known as Alex B in his native Boulder, Colo. The brain and verve behind the 2011 album Levitate and last year’s EP Paragon, Paper Diamond has played such major national music festivals as Coachella in California and Lollapalooza in Chicago. Last summer he wowed the crowds at Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee with his flashing electronica and sense of audible layers and rhythm. Paper Diamond puts Tulsa in a spin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Cain’s Ballroom, 423 N. Main St. Tickets are $15-$30, available at www.cainsballroom.com.
