As its name would suggest, fajitas here are ample and delicious. Try the shrimp, chicken, beef or seafood versions of the meal, all served with tortillas, rice, refried beans, sour cream and guacamole. Other highlights include specials like the pollo con chorizo, the ribeye steak, the carne asada and the Chicken Monterrey – grilled chicken breast with onions, mushrooms, cheese and pico de gallo. Don’t forget about chile relleno, carnitas, tacos, burritos, tamales and more.

Blue Moon Cafe

Just a stone’s throw away from Fajitas Grill is Blue Moon Cafe, a culinary staple on Brookside. Ideal for breakfast and lunch, Blue Moon is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Favorites include the Reuben, the veggie burger, the chicken sandwich and the Brookside – grilled ham, jalapeno cheese bread, red onion, Swiss and cheddar cheese plus brown mustard. Don’t forget breakfast classics like the egg quesadilla, egg sandwich, breakfast tacos and the huevos rancheros. For something lighter, try one of many salads that include the Southwest Cobb, the Power Bowl and the strawberry salad with fresh spinach, sliced strawberries, feta and candied pecans. The joint also has cocktails, bubbly drinks and beers to keep the good vibes going.

Patty Wagon

Described as “criminally good,” the burgers at Patty Wagon in OKC are no joke. Even better, prices are low and servings are ample. Classic options include the Big John with pepperjack cheese, green chiles, grilled jalapenos and spicy mayonnaise, as well as the Swiss N’ Shroom with Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, onions and horseradish. Other hot sandwich options include the BLT, the classic turkey club, the chicken tender sandwich and the Thunderbird with turkey breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato and housemade sauce. Don’t forget sides like hand-cut fries, tater tots, onion rings and roasted corn nuggets. And for the kiddos, junior burgers, grilled cheese and corn dogs await.

A vegan must-visit within OKC’s Brookside Plaza, Betty’s Plant-Based To-Go provides diners with unique twists on Southern fare – all with vegan-only ingredients. Popular entrees include the Soul Platter with house fried ‘chk’n’ – made from mushrooms – alongside cornbread and your choice of three sides. (Sides include black-eyed peas, collard greens, cornbread, candied yams, extra ‘chk’n’ and vegan macaroni and cheese.) Other favored dishes include the Betty’s Wrap with lettuce mix, beans, roasted peppers, salsa, guacamole and white sauce, alongside the MAC burger with macaroni and cheese, Betty’s sauce and a plant-based patty on a pretzel bun.
