In Tulsa, 108 Contemporary presents A Luthier’s Tale: The Craft of Stringed Instruments July 2-Sept. 19. The show melds the works of local and regional artists, showcasing the art, craft and design of a variety of stringed instruments. 

In OKC, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum ushers in ¡Viva México! July 9-Oct. 17 and Framework: Exploring the Artistic Process July 16-Feb. 27. ¡Viva México! explores the repercussions of Mexico’s independence upon the Americas, while Framework delves into the process behind creating art. At the OKCMOA, visit The Painters of Pompeii through Oct. 17. The works within depict the historic presentation of the art of painting in Rome. OKCMOA’s From Heroes to Immortals: Classical Mythological Prints, running through Nov. 7, showcases imagery from classical mythology, depicting takes on heroism, love and vengeance. In Shawnee, Mabee Gerrer Museum of Art presents Interesting Times: The Art of Honoré Daumier July 3-Aug. 29, showing the artist’s varied works that depict the social and political life of the French in the 1800s.
