Monday, Aug. 31

GWAR gives a concert performance unlike any other, and on Monday, Aug. 31, attendees to the GWAR performance at Cain’s Ballroom will have a lot to talk about on Tuesday at work. From the group’s costuming and intensity to its on-stage theatrics and metal music, GWAR is an all around spectacle. Made up of five “War Gods,” GWAR is on a mission to destroy the human race, a goal the members don’t take lightly and a cause its loyal fans have joined. The leader, in vocals and war, Oderus Urungus, is feared by his look alone, four long horns protruding his monster-like face. Assisting him on the warpath with distorted and amplified guitar ammunition are Balsac The Jaws of Death and Pustulus Maximus. The beating and pounding is always saved for Jizmak Da Gusha, GWAR’s dog-headed drummer, who relishes in his destruction, and Beefcake The Mighty, angry and violent, has turned his bass into a blade of annihilation. If you dare to kneel before them, worshiping their might, do at your own risk. You just may be pulled from the crowd, becoming their slave and potentially a monster’s meal. The terror will begin at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.cainsballroom.com.
