It’s not surprising that Oklahoma produces some great musical acts, such as Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Reba Mcentire and Tulsa-natvie JD McPherson. Known for his infusion of rock and roll and R&B, JD’s debut album Sign and Signifiers was released in 2010 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. In 2012, Rolling Stone named McPherson as an “Artist to Watch.” McPherson recently released his second album, Let the Good Times Roll. But before he rocked the charts, he was rocking the classroom as a middle school art teacher. Saturday marks McPherson’s return to Oklahoma at the Cain’s Ballroom.
