Every September, PhotoFest on Paseo arrives with its juried photography exhibition of more than 20 Oklahoma artists. Showcasing traditional and digital process and mixed media work that feature photography, the exhibit offers a comprehensive look at contemporary Oklahoma photography. This year’s guest curator, John Jernigan, is an accomplished photographer whose subjects include portraits, landscapes, travel and corporate work, among others. His images can be found in the International Photography Hall of Fame, National Endowment for the Arts, Oklahoma State Arts Council, SSM Corporation, AAA Travel USA and OG&E Energy Corporation. Coinciding with The Paseo District’s monthly first Friday gallery walk, PhotoFest will kick off the evening at Paseo Art Space with a 6 p.m. opening. Jernigan will begin giving out awards at 7 p.m., and the event will last until 10 p.m. For more information, visit www.thepaseo.com.

This year’s artists include Emily Baker, Pattie Calfy, Michelle Chain, Leslie Chance, Sam Charboneau, Garrett Dressler, Harolda Gibson, Jay Gourley, Shellee Graham, Julie Greenwood, Linda Guenther, Micahel Hoffner, Doug Hoke, Jann Jeffrey, Shae McMaster, Ron Pierce, Carl Shortt Jr., William Struby, Claudette Torneden, Debra Van Swearingen and Ted West.
