The parking lot that’s usually busy tending to cars and shoppers will fill with lawn chairs, picnics, lots of people and a stage boasting saxophonist Grady Nichols for Summer’s Fifth Night, Utica Square’s weekly concert series. The last Summer’s Fifth Night of 2015-16, Nichols, who currently lives in Tulsa, will close the season with jazz that bleeds genres. “Like my audience,” he says in his bio, “I enjoy different styles of music. I try to push the envelope a bit in concert to see how the fans will react.” In Nichols accomplished career, he’s opened for Ray Charles, The Temptations, The Righteous Brothers, The O’Jays and others, and he has shared the stage with Chris Botti, Bill Champlin, The Beach Boys, Roy Clark and more.
