Cain’s Ballroom welcomes the 12th Annual Blues Challenge to its stage on Saturday, Sept. 5, starting at 5:30 p.m. Hosted by the Blues Society of Tulsa, a nonprofit committed to fostering an education and appreciation for blues music, the Blues Challenge held a solo/duo competition on July 25, and is now showcasing top-notch blues bands. Scoring will be based on five categories: blues content, talent, vocal, originality and stage presence. First-time appearances in the challenge include The Patti Taylor Band, made up of nine members; Vox Squadron out of Tahlequah; The Dirtboxwailers; Calvin Youngblood & Cold Front; and more.
