In this special exhibit, Cherokee Nation officials celebrate the wedding anniversary of Principal Chief John Ross, who served in that position from 1828 to 1866, and his wife, Mary, at the John Ross Museum. Married on Sept. 3, 1844, their love can be excavated from a series of letters they sent to one another, the focus of the exhibit, Cherokee Love Story. John Ross Museum, which highlights the life of Ross through exhibits and interactive displays, welcomes guests to enjoy the exhibit with free admission. For $25, guests will have the opportunity to have a rosebush planted on site to honor a loved one. Opening on Thursday, Sept. 3, Cherokee Love Story will run through Dec. 21.
