Thursday, July 18-Sunday, July 21

One of the oldest gatherings in the state reemerges from the woods and arbors. The 132nd Otoe-Missouria Summer Encampment takes place at the Otoe-Missouria Tribe’s campgrounds, south of the 7 Clans Paradise Casino in Red Rock. The casino is approximately eight miles north of the Cimarron Turnpike and U.S. 177 intersection (north of Stillwater). For those who are Otoe-Missouria, the gathering is a special homecoming and chance to remember a traditional way of life. For guests, the encampment is an opportunity to experience everything that makes the culture special. Just remember to bring your lawn chair. The summer encampment will be Thursday, July 18-Sunday, July 21. Activities include traditional dances and song, powwow dancing, turtle races, an archery contest, horseshoe tournament, arts and crafts vendors and more. Learn more at www.omtribe.org.
