Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1 p.m.

Some celebrations are about the obstacles we defeat, and the 13th Annual New Year’s Eve Sobriety Powwow is one of them. Founded by the late Niles Bosin of Tulsa, this dance of Native American tradition continues in his memory and furthers his work to support sobriety among native populations. This year’s powwow will be back at the Cox Business Center, 100 Civic Center, in downtown Tulsa. Beginning at 1 p.m. with gourd dancing, the afternoon and night will include competition in all dance styles and age categories. Admission is free and open to the public.
