Tulsa Youth Opera goes on an adventure with Little Nemo in Slumberland, featuring 42 youth opera students at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, 110 E. Second St., this weekend. Based on Winsor McCay’s pioneering comic strip that debuted in 1905, the opera follows a boy who has fantastic adventures and meets surprising characters in his dreams only to wake at the end. American composer Daron Hagen teamed with American poet and literary critic J.D. McClatchy to create a unique show ideal for young voices. Tulsa Opera’s youth program gets into the act with two shows on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 2 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5-$10 each, available www.myticketoffice.com.
