The weekend
If you feel fortune on your side, share or show a little green this weekend. Whether you’re making a donation or sporting the colors of the Irish, the St. Patrick’s Day Run on Saturday, March 15, is where you’ll find runners (and pets) of all fitness levels in outrageous costumes ready to raise money for Special Olympics of Oklahoma. The 32nd annual race begins at 8 a.m. with check-in for the costume contest followed by run events at 8:30 a.m. It all happens in Brookside at Peoria Avenue and 39th Avenue. Registration is $15 and $30 (www.sook.org). Oklahoma City’s Run Lucky 5k takes place in the Classen Curve District starting at noon Sunday, March 16. The first run is set for 1:30 p.m., and the awards ceremony for race winner and best costumes starts at 3 p.m. Registration starts at $30 through noon Thursday (March 13) and goes up to $40 afterward. Run Lucky benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.runlucky.com).
