Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7 a.m.

As if running on a frigid February morning wasn’t invigorating enough, the organizers of the Big Freeze 5k & Fun Run throw in obstacles all around LaFortune Park to make the experience more memorable. If you live for the thrill of a challenge, you know where to go: The Buddy LaFortune Community Center, 5202 S. Hudson Ave., and start of this year’s race. Registration is $25 for each event or $5 for ages 12 and under. Teams of no fewer than five can sign up for $20. Proceeds benefit Park Friends for Tulsa County Parks. Sign-up before or beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday. Race events begin at 7:30 a.m. The only thing that could spoil the day would be a warm front. Look for more at www.bigfreezetulsa.com.
