It began with rockabilly, and before long Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys were reviving a wider sampling of sounds that made rock and roll epic. The California band just had its 25th anniversary and released an album, What a Dream It’s Been, to celebrate. Branching out into other musical styles – including honky-tonk, rhythm & blues, doo-wop, country boogie and Western swing – Big Sandy and the boys are in fine form for the band’s next show at The Blue Door, 2805 N.
