Born in Syracuse, N.Y., faith has always been an important part of O’Brien’s life. In 2007, after five years of seminary, O’Brien was ordained a priest and appointed president of Bishop Kelley High School in 2009. “I think people know how important education is to our city, state and country,” O’Brien says. “Bishop Kelley High School has a lot of good things going for it, and it’s an important institution for the future of the city. His advice for others is to trust in faith. God has a plan for every person. When we are aware of His will through prayer, and have the courage to follow that will, amazing things happen.”
