[dropcap]The[/dropcap] 20th anniversary of Tulsa CARES’ largest annual fundraiser, the Red Ribbon Gala, proved to be an enormous success. Donned in various shades of red to mark the occasion, the gala’s 500+ guests spent the evening raising money for those individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Patrons raised $856,000 for the cause – 14 percent above the goal of $750,000 – cementing the gala’s theme that “when we become untied from the myths of the past, we become united in our mission of HIV/AIDS education, treatment and prevention.”
