Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson met while attending the University of North Texas, and becoming more than great friends, they’d go on to form the Eli Young Band, a country music band that has found success through its hard work, creativity and musicality. Since 2002 when the group released its debut, self-titled album, the Eli Young Band has released four other albums, including its most recent, 10,000 Towns, which was released in 2014. In March, the group released “Turn It On,” the first single from its Turn It On EP. Through the band’s journey, they’ve been nominated for multiple Academy of Country Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, CMT Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards and even a Grammy, and the Eli Young Band won an Academy of Country Music Award for Song of the Year in 2012. The group has found No. 1 status for multiple hits, including “Crazy Girl” and “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” off its 2011 Life at Best, as well as “Drunk Last Night,” the first single of its recent record, 10,000 Towns. On Saturday, Aug. 29, the Eli Young Band’s tour will make a stop at Oklahoma City’s Frontier City. For more information, visit www.frontiercity.com.
